Yay, Rain…

Several days in a row have been sunny and warm. Each day that passed my longing, yearning, pining increased for clouds and rain. We had a couple of taunts, but not a true soaking rain. My rain stick is still hiding in our unpacked possessions. I was threatening to tear through boxes to find it.

Then, this morning… we woke to a lovely overcast sky delivering my soaking rain. My body relaxed… I sighed and giggled in glee. RAIN! I LOVE rain! Obsessed, might be a better word., but be rest assured… cloudy rainy days bring out the child in this old body…

Scott has never installed Sheetrock before, so he started cautiously. The first four sheets required cutouts. Soon he will be moving along more quickly…

If we ever achieve the impossible and…
Bert and his boys change the heating coils in that bedroom ceiling…
Glenn finishes roughing in the plumbing for the third floor… and,
Larry raises the beam in the basement that is causing the floor to sag…
Then, Scott can Sheetrock the final wall and install the ceiling.
Then… we can have the floor installed…
So many “ifs” but, I keep dreaming… “maybe September” sigh…

Now to a bit of exciting news… we had not mentioned this possibility previously, because we wanted it to be a surprise. We commissioned a lovely woman (Julia Sweda) to design and make a porcelain ceramic mural for our bakery. I wanted something that reminded me of ‘my Mama in her kitchen,’ when she had her old stove (before her electric stove) with traces of my likes. It arrived yesterday. It will not be put up until Scott finishes the bedroom and closet; but it is here and this is our mural…
