Flexible…

We are not in Gloversville yet. Let me make that perfectly clear. Several people have asked when we moved. We are in that weird limbo of residing in Honolulu… while our hearts reside in Gloversville!

So what do our days consist of during these three months of transition? Scott continues going to work. I continue our blog.

We both spend time researching all the possible options available for each room and area. We look for those inevitable glitches we could and probably will face as we walk into a new home and community. We want our home to be as cozy, yet environmentally friendly, as possible. What will our carbon footprint be? We are planning and remodeling a home we have never physically set foot inside. Planning each room theoretically in our heads is like playing with a virtual dollhouse.

Each day I walk hourly at least ten minutes and achieve a minimum of one thousand steps. When I feel brave I climb the stairs in our condominium building; but they are closed off, smell stale, and are anything but inviting. Usually I wait for Scott to come home and we climb them together.

Regular maintenance for Happy, our thirteen year old

Happy with Josh

Chinese Crested Powder Puff, and Mr. Ems, our one and a half year old Maltipoo was challenging while caring for Josh. Both are long haired hypo-allergenic dogs that require regular brushing. Every other day, thirty minutes brushing is absolutely necessary to keep them from becoming totally matted. So with the exception of Sunday, one or the other is brushed every day. Mr. Em’s hair is particularly challenging because of his poodle maltese mix. But, we brush through the complaints.

Mr. Em’s

Sorting, packing, and giving away our not practical to move possessions tells us we are making headway. As the filled packing boxes stack-up, the rooms empty… ahh, we are closer…
