Different Projects…

Though much of what we do is just a daily continuation of yesterday’s projects, there are minor advances to see each day. Today Scott is moving along the fence and removing the dead trees so the plants in our planters will have every opportunity to reach their full potential. After tearing out several dead trees he put another double planter together. Now we just need to locate more top soil, compost, and cow manure.

At this point I have decided I must nickname my precious husband, Gardener Scott… Of course when he comes inside and tackles a removal of another construction project he becomes Demolition Guy! Actually, he is my “Scott of All Trades”!

Yesterday, our air conditioning heating crew tackled installing thermostats throughout the house. We can manage each of them over our iPhone or iPad! Yay!

Of course we will be so relieved when air conditioning and heat are actually available to manage… But, back to the thermostats… we have six Honeywell Wi-fi Smart Thermostats throughout the house. They not only give the temperature and humidity of each room, but the temperature and humidity outside. We do love our thermostats!

Food… we still do not have a kitchen… so food, especially occasional comfort food, has been lacking. We do not have our six burner stove top for pots of soup to be simmering on all day… and it will be a while before we do. But, yesterday we found our first local, “Jackie’s Diner,” not chain restaurant, but a good old-fashioned local restaurant. The food was delicious, comforting,

and not loaded with salt! In fact, they do not use salt when cooking, but leave it up to the customer as too how much sodium they want to use. They had fabulous fifties music playing softly in the background that did not drown out individual conversations. And, the service was wonderful! We have found a home away from home for comfort food! So if you are driving through Gloversville and find yourself hungry for good old fashioned comfort food, plan a stop at 1472 State Highway 29 Jackie’s Diner
