Return…

Writing… posting… journaling… blogging… whatever you call what this site is conveying was trampled upon by a nasty gargantuan cold that had lurked around waiting to waylay, knock flat, and thwart our efforts to advance the restoration of our Victorian cottage. And guess what, it succeeded… temporarily! But, we resisted and fought our way through the coughs, gunk, and fever coming out the other side victorious and are now back on track to restoration…

Well, at this point, restoration might be inaccurate. The lion’s share of our efforts are still suspended due to delays by our heating, air conditioning, plumbing crew.

Example: I thought the room that was to be my sewing room was complete so I started cleaning it… Imagine my amazement when I walked in the next day to find plaster, lath, and tubes all over my sewing room floor. Back to waiting…

That is not to say we are not making some headway. Our LG washer and dryer arrived. The hook-ups have been installed and our electrician put in the dryer vent. We now have the capacity to wash our clothes. So wish we had heat so we could take a proper bath…

On a positive note our garden is progressing nicely. We now have two types of potatoes in one of our beds… the German Butterball and Blues… both heritage seed potatoes from Seed Savers. We have two planters where we are starting all our herbs… plus putting them in other planters. Our turnips are sprouting… oh, for a kitchen to cook them in…

But, we survived the attack of that nasty gargantuan cold. The weather is warming. We have found a wonderful man to help us with the kitchen cabinets. And, we have a garden started… All in all, progress…
