When we left Honolulu, we left a condo that needed to be sold. We weren’t sure how long it would take to sell, but we knew the longer it sat on the market the longer we would be making condo payments. We found a fabulous realtor, Caroline Parobek, from Elite Pacific Properties because of my friend, Karen. We agreed to have her handle the sale.
She met with us, asking what we hoped to receive. Of course we wanted as large a sale as possible. Finally we agree on a number that was higher than any condo in our building had sold for. Caroline was hopeful, but prepared us that we may need to adjust our expectations. We are one of the few units that had air conditioning units grandfathered into the condo, so that was a plus.
Before we left, we were refreshing the condo, following Caroline’s suggestions, Painting here and there… but when we left she came in and did all the final touch-ups… repainting where we did not meet her highest of standards. She had a cleaning company come in and go over the unit, then, cleaned it again herself. She staged it! How she accomplished all she did in four days we will never know. But, wonder woman that she is, she did!
Caroline advertised an open house for the first weekend after we left. By the end of that open house we had two offers on the condo… one offering more than we were asking. All thanks to Caroline’s diligence to detail.
So we are pleased to tell all of you that have been concerned how the sale was going, it closed June 2. So our old condo now has a wonderful new family to enjoy it. And, they are so fortunate. It is a lovely friendly building and they have some of the best neighbors in the building on their floor. So now our last legal ties to Hawaii have ended and we are official residents of New York…
