My precious Scotty watches out for me wonderfully, so yesterday when I went splat… face down on the ground we were both shaken up. We were checking how our plants were doing and I went to remind our hawthorn how thrilled we are it is doing so well in our yard.
Problem is, I did not know it was staked to hold it steady until it establishes its root system. As I turned to go to the next plant my feet tangled in the staked ropes and in the blink of an eye I was face down in the dirt. Scott said my head bounced. All I know is I was face down in the grass and dirt. After taking a moment to assure myself I was not mortally wounded, he helped me up carefully. Other than a somewhat stiff neck and sore jaw I am fine, but we decided Scott needs further training at being a seeing eye husband. On a side note, Scott decided the staking rope was not needed any longer. And we are very grateful that our yard has fairly soft dirt.
We did continue on our errands though we were both pretty rattled We brought home more insulation to get started preparing another room for ceiling installation.
And, we have had so much rain this week that Jeremiah will have to wait until next week to start installing our new roof.
Thanks to Elizabeth we have learned we have prunella growing in our yard. Prunella is commonly called self heal. It is in the mint family and has been used as a medicinal herb for centuries. It has been credited with treatment of everything from minor cuts to internal bleeding, hence its name, heal-all. We plan to try it and see if we can benefit from its amazing healing properties.
Well, that’s it for this week. We will update everyone about our weekend happenings on Monday…
