Encroachment…

At one of our estate sales we met another lovely lady… Shelly. While we were waiting for the sale to begin, her iPhone died. It was new. She thinks she hand not charged it fully. But, she was at the sale “on a mission” to secure a bedroom set for her daughter who had to work. She needed to send her pictures of the bedroom sets with the prices, but now she could not accomplish her mission.

Immediately I volunteered, “We can take pictures for you and send them to her daughter so you can still accomplish your goal.”

So while I went to find our treasures Scott went upstairs and took pictures. Her daughter had the bedroom set she wanted and we had our treasures.

After we finished our primary purpose for being at the sale, we mentioned our love of Christmas and our Christmas village treasure we had found at an earlier Estate Sale.

“I have Christmas angels, Santas, and other decorations I am no longer keeping. I would be happy to give them to you” Shelly volunteered.

Scott and I were bowled over.

She promised as soon as she sorted the out of her basement “stuff” that needed removal, she would let us know.

Yesterday we drove to pick up the wonderful treasures Shelly was letting go.

While driving over to her home to pick up her treasures, we saw the first signs of the encroachment of Fall. Fall! August… Fall? But, there is no denying… a few trees’ leaves now splash the telltale signs… of yellow and orange… of cooler weather… of Fall.

Now, please indulge me for a moment and allow me to babble on about my fabulous husband.

He held on to “us” through rain and shine… thick and thin… good and bad… tough and easy… and we emerged on the other side stronger yet softer… giggly not grumpy… our daily lives filled with joy and love. We are so blessed… I am so blessed…
