We had our second adventure to our bank in Highland Falls yesterday. Scott is such an excellent seeing eye husband. He constantly relays what we are passing. I can see the”big” stuff, but not clear enough to know most of the details. He is like one of those recorded machines you can obtain in museums that give detailed information.
Each time we make a similar journey I memorize a bit more. My sweet husband is so busy relating information while driving, he has little time to absorb the information himself. But, as I remember I become the one to remind him we are approaching certain locations. We are learning the terrain together.
As to our home… Some of you are concerned “as we are” but, in our hearts, and Glenn keeps assuring us, we have enough inadequately installed heat to keep us safe through the winter, if need be. In the meantime, please know, we have an excellent team of gentlemen helping us secure our cottage. What we have being restored, repaired, or installed is being restored, repaired, and installed correctly. We would rather struggle longer with less and have it completed correctly than have it slapped together slipshod.
Now to our other latest adventures… Cookie jars! They are out there in the troposphere waiting for us to discover them. Well… we discovered three new ones at two different estate sales over the last several weeks.
First, a darling “teacher’s apple” cookie jar. It has a slight chip on one of the leaves that we can smooth and touch up.
Second, the cutest little “cottage” cookie jar. Perfect for small batches of tiny cookie treats…
Third, we found a beautiful historical collector’s cookie jar. An “Aunt Jemima” cookie jar in mint condition.
We received our Social Security cards this week so we are off today to become legal residents of New York. We will let you know if “this time” we have enough identification to be successful…
