As this year moves toward the last third, we are still juggling the puzzle pieces of putting our cottage into a functional working organism that we can use. But, juggle we must.
Glenn, our fabulous plumber, needs Joe and Randy, our miracle working construction crew, to build the box behind the washer and dryer so he can install the plumbing.
We are waiting for Steve, our amazing electrician, who is on a much needed and deserved vacation, to return to move a fire and carbon monoxide detection alarm so Joe and Randy can install the ceiling in our clothes closet. Then, he needs to install lights in what will be our shoe and hat closet that was originally going to be a closet to just hold Spectrum’s electronic equipment.
Of course we still have the challenge of our dreamed of second floor master bedroom. Because the third floor bathroom will be over the second floor bedroom, we need to know where the plumbing will drop down before completing any of those walls or the ceiling. Also, the floor still needs to be installed and restored.
Bert, our possible savior from Precision SheetMetal, who has looked at our heating and air conditioning conundrum, has seven people he needs to take care of before even attempting to clean up Patrick’s mess.
Through it all our valiant roses continue to bloom.
And, this week we will be dropping into the 40s at night. Could I be slightly anxious that we will have a warm secured cottage before the cold winter blasts arrive? Maybe…
