We love the morning traffic report on our phone… this morning? light traffic in the area… no delays… no five car traffic jams…
Update… last week, Steve and Larry from Modern Electric… with Jake and Zachery (Steve’s son) helping, put cam lights in our primary kitchen. We have light!
And, we have picked out the pendant lights for over our copper sink…
Now to the backsplashes for our kitchens. Yes, we wanted turquoise for our primary kitchen backsplash. When we went to find the particular turquoise tile we had liked, we learned it is no longer being made. Not sure about your area, but when we went to look at backsplash choices, all we could find were safe, beiges, creams, and grays, with a few whites, browns, and blacks thrown in. No, blues or pinks and definitely not turquoise. Sigh… Are we the only ones not afraid of a splash of color?
Quickly we realized we needed to go to a store with wide ranging choices… and wide ranging prices. Off we went to Ruby and Quiri. When we entered, Maggie O’Rourke Rogers greeted us… though from the distance she greeted us, I could not locate the person behind the voice. As we walked closer, I spotted her.
We told her our dilemma… turquoise backsplash and whimsical backsplash. Without the slightest hesitation she took us to their tile section. Now turquoise is considered to have many variables of color… though in “my head” it is pretty consistent. But, I am broadening my mental options. Then the looking began. Too blue… too green… too flat… not enough character… Wow! Found one… $49 a square foot… Need to keep looking… Maggie was a trooper… she was searching through turquoise color and looking for whimsical at the same time. Not a lot of whimsy out there either… Then we found Marazzi’s Caicos collection of glass mosaics Blue Beach…
would not have been my first choice, but, pretty much our only choice that is close… it has shades of turquoise, blue, green and hints of copper… works very well.
Now off to find a solution for our whimsy problem…
