Wood Chips…

Yesterday, after I wrote about the holly accident , or as Scott calls it “I blogged him”, Suzanne, our lovely neighbor, offered wood chips waiting in her back yard for disposal.

Immediately, I volunteered Scott and our wagon to be at least a partial removal source… only to be informed by Scott that we have enough wood branches of our own that need to be chipped. I gave him “the look” that said… “Well? It’s either Suzanne’s wood chips or ours… Today!” Reluctantly, he headed out to the garage… to our wood chipper… and voila! We have wood chips, or should I say “wood shreds,” protecting some of our precious baby plants. Then, it got too warm… a high of 79°. I stopped him for the day.

Our hummingbird vine that we thought had died recovered and produced a whole new shoot through the soil. Scott is guiding it gently to the arbor where it will intertwine with the wisteria. At the moment we are celebrating the fact it recovered from the trauma of being moved.

Glenn, our fabulous plumber, made the holes needed for the vanity drain in our downstairs half bath. Today, the hole for the toilet drain pipe and the bakery sink drain will be drilled and the necessary basement pipes laid out. Hooray! Headway! Though usability has not changed, everything is changing… our cottage is humming contentedly…
