Chilly Morning…

Well, this morning is just a teeny bit chilly… We find ourselves in the low 20s for the first time this year. I guess that Arctic front came through and winter is on its way. We really can’t complain because this has been a very lovely year. And for those of you concerned, our cottage is very comfortable… warmth wise. The ice scrapers for our car arrived just in time. When Scott went out this morning to pick up our breakfast, the car was covered in ice. Remember we do not have a garage that can hold our car this winter.

Because it’s soooo chilly, Scott will work indoors until it warms up a little bit. Obviously these tree plantings will be his last outside work until Spring. So this morning it’s painting the ceiling in our closet, then proceeding out doors to plant our few remaining trees.

In the meantime, sewing room organization continues. Quilting squares sorted… charm squares, fat squares, and jelly rolls. Material for curtains lined up… ready to go. Material for some winter clothes just needing to be sewn. Patterns in notebooks… and studying… Learning how to operate a Bernina. I feel as if I’ve gone back to school.

And yes, our kitchen floor is going down… It is so beautiful! We love how rustic it feels… just what we wanted for our updated old-fashioned kitchen…
