It’s a strange feeling to go through daylight saving time for the first time in about a half century. Hawaii does not have daylight saving time. It’s strange to wake up one morning and the sunrise was 7:37 but the very next morning it rises at 6:38. If we were still working it could be very disruptive. Of course for our puppies, it is very disruptive. They do not understand… we just lost an hour and they are expected to sleep later.
“But, mommy,” they say. “The sun has come up.”
As disruptive as the Fall shift is I can’t imagine how much more disruptive the Spring shift will be. Over time I’m sure we will grow used to it.
Now to things of true importance…
My husband, my precious Scotty, has finished putting up the ceiling in our primary kitchen! With every tile he put up, it’s loveliness expanded. I could not be more thrilled. He is so meticulous. He made sure every tile and each corner was placed with precision. There is no way I can thank him for the heart he puts into his work. He is my personal artisan! ❤️
Today our subfloors and oak flooring are being laid in the primary kitchen. It’s hard to believe after all these months that I actually have a functioning ceiling and floor. Two more months and there will be a functioning kitchen. I feel like the child that dreams of sugarplums dancing when anticipating Christmas except I dream of stirring soup in my kitchen.
As soon as Scott finished the kitchen ceiling, he moved to painting my sewing room. The ceiling is now painted a beautiful cotton white…
