Over the weekend we had a cold snap… It was quite cold… We did not achieve single digits, but we did reach 11°. In our third floor haven, we managed to stay 65° but on the second floor we couldn’t boost the heat above 62°. And, on the first floor we were in the low 50s. But, we don’t have heat in the primary kitchen yet. There are no heat transfer plates or insulation on either the first floor or basement heat coils. So considering all that, we are quite warm. Lots of layers and we were fine. Needless to say, I have suggested that Scott install heat transfer plates ASAP…Then… we had our first snow that stuck around for a few minutes yesterday…
But over all, it was a great weekend. The sewing room is more organized. My craft cabinet is set up and am learning how to work my Bernina!
And we bought some cedar planks to start installing on the walls in our closet.
Many people need help because of the cold snap. Apparently some people that had been advised their furnaces needs to be replaced hoped they would achieve one more winter, but found out the hard way they should have heeded the expert’s advice. So our heating and plumbing people are out helping other people. But that’s okay… we don’t want other people without any heat. We can wait a little longer.
We do have the floor in the primary kitchen. So our kitchen is ready for cabinets. And, we had the nicest surprise this weekend. John Herrlett of Herrl Woodcraft came and took final measurements for our cabinets. The next step is that John makes a model kitchen for us to walk through so we see how the kitchen cabinets actually look and feel. We never dreamed we would have the opportunity to see how the cabinets felt before they were installed. Our kitchen is one step closer to completion…
