Primary Kitchen and Such…

Bert and his sons, Bert and Joshua, from Precision Sheetmetal, arrived to see what we need for the radiant heating in our kitchen floor… AND, correct more of the mess Patrick St. Pierre left us with. Turns out Patrick even installed the wrong size ducts for our air conditioning. Bert’s sons have now corrected and installed the ductwork for our first and second floor air conditioning system.

And, a whole mess of heating tubes that had been hanging in my sewing closet will be removed and put in the basement… where they should have been installed in the first place. So the closet I thought would be filled with lots of heating system tubing will now have the tubing that goes to the third floor, but nothing else… it will be available for sewing supplies.

Scott is installing the copper ceiling for our primary kitchen. Starting the installation took time. It was a real puzzle. He needed to work out from the center to figure out the size of the panels that will abut the wall. Because these are interlocking panels they must be installed in the proper order. With every panel he puts up, I love the ceiling more and more… (Before anyone gets upset, please know that the white rims of the lights will be sprayed to make them copper. We will not have white rims for our lights in the middle of our wonderful copper ceiling.) This is a very time-consuming project, but soooo worth it.

Then John Herrlett, of Herrl Woodcraft, text that he had the stain for our kitchen cabinets ready for us to see. I was beside myself with anticipation. Was Michelle Cherry going to be as beautiful on cherry wood as it was on maple wood? It exceeded my expectations! The photo really does not do it credit, but let me assure you that this stain highlights all the grain in the cherry wood so magnificently and compliments our copper ceiling to perfection.

Projects are definitely moving along… ??
