Hotchpotch…

Before I address news about our cottage, I want all our friends and family in California to know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you! Please stay safe!

Each day seems to bring new surprises. Joe and Randy put the railings on the stairs to the basement. Stairs… Railings… exist! We now have access to our basement from inside our home.

Scott finished the second coat of Tuscan Teal in the primary kitchen. The depth of intensity the second coat brings to the kitchen gives it the warmth we wanted it to convey.

And, Scott has framed one of our primary kitchen windows with our Celtic rosettes. He is finishing the second one where the counters will be this morning as John Herrlett of Herrl Woodcraft is here installing the cabinets for our primary kitchen.

I wrote these musings on Friday… Scott says that the weather realized it had been blogged and gave us snow. ?
Now to my local atmospheric event musings…
Our weather has been so warm for Upstate New York. A few times I felt as if we could still be in Hawaii.
I keep begging Tracey to send us some of the snow they are receiving in Alaska, but so far nothing… but a few light dustings that don’t even stick. She keeps assuring me… snow will arrive…
And, you know that earthquake that happened off the coast of Delaware last week? Well, we felt that too. There we were sitting, relaxing, minding our own business and the house started shaking. Then, we saw the telltale vibration in our water glass. Having lived in Hawaii, we know how an earthquake feels. We looked at each other… hardly believing it. A few minutes later the news broke that there had been a tremor off the Delaware coast.
Yes, Tracey… I know you have earthquakes all the time… Alaska has it all! Even those devastating tsunamis…
Okay, we came to New York to enjoy snowy winters and leave tsunamis, earthquakes and hurricanes… so… an earthquake? No Earthquakes! Go back where you belong.. to the Ring of Fire! Just let us have the snow…

This weekend we received slightly more than a dusting of snow… let’s call it a kiss… the promise of what might be in our future…
