Weather…

The nor’easter that hit New England just dropped delightful snow over our area. The drifting snow flakes fell to earth with grace and tenderness almost all day Thursday… providing a most ethereal wintery scene… the clouds enveloping us…

On a side note we find it ludicrous that news stations call a nor’easter (granted it was a storm of some size) a “bombogenisis” a “bomb cyclone” and other extreme names. When I first heard those terms I thought there was something strange coming up the East Coast that we’ve never seen before. We had friends calling from Hawaii concerned for our safety. But as we looked at the weather, it was obvious… it was nothing other than a strong nor’easter.
This is the North folks! Winter storms happen… It gets cold, very cold. And granted, like the rest of the country we don’t like when it gets too cold for too long, but it’s the North! Yes, it got cold in the South too… and like many of you, I don’t like when our crops get frozen and farmers struggle to keep our citrus trees safe. But, freezes have been happening periodically as long as I’ve been alive… and, that’s beginning to be a few years. It’s just something we deal with called life.
Now the Arctic freeze that moved through? That’s a different matter. Enough of my ranting…

Though our heating system is not capable of making adequate heat in our cottage due to downed ceilings and inadequate insulation everywhere, our third floor nest is cozy warm…

John, Lothar, and Seth from Herrl Woodcraft returned to our frigid first floor with heaters and jackets to put on the finishing touches in our primary kitchen.

In the meantime, Steve and Larry (yay! Larry is back… he was recovering from an injury) from Modern Electric, installed our pendant lights over the copper sink.

Though there are still many parts to make the primary kitchen functional, it is coming together…
And, our primary kitchen and moulding cause my heart to sing. Perfection!

Every moment of waiting has been worth the final result. It is that way with everything we are going through. The waiting is so worth the final result…
