When I said we had Lazy Susans, I don’t think I clarified the number we have. In our primary kitchen, the corner cabinet has two Lazy Susans. In our bakery each corner has two Lazy Susans; then in the upper cabinet corner there are two smaller Lazy Susans. So all told, we have eight Lazy Susans. Though none of them will have a moment to be lazy… they will all be working full-time.
Originally, when we purchased containers for the Lazy Susan, they came in sets of three. Well, the Lazy Susan holds five containers on each Susan… definitely not lazy. More like real work horses. So we ordered more containers… More labels to remove… Just as I thought I was becoming an expert at label removal, a label declared, “Not so fast! We still have a trick or two to teach you.” Humbled, I continue to remove labels. Hoping to learn all the teeniest of nuances.
Debbie and Susan told me (I’m sure their brother, Chris, would have told me too, if he had been here) how much their mom loved her kitchen. Being in this kitchen, I understand. It is so much more than even inviting and warm… it is comforting… inspiring… You really hate to leave it and are anxious to return. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been in a kitchen that I have loved as much as the ones in this cottage.
This morning’s weather was dismal and overcast that evolved into a drizzly afternoon. A splendid view to balance our deliciously upbeat kitchen…
