Well, it’s been a few days since I updated you on our renovations. We now have, well almost have, a half bath on the first floor… but, we are missing a bedroom on the third floor. Let me back up a little and give you a brief rundown of what happened.
I had both puppies near me since it was time for them to eat. Scott was mixing the food in their bowls when I heard a tapping… cracking… just plain weird sound coming from beside where the puppies and I were.
“What is that sound?” I asked Scott.
As he stopped what he was doing and turned, all the plaster from the ceiling beside the puppies and me came tumbling down. It missed us by about a foot.
Five minutes earlier, Emmi had been playing right where the plaster fell. This is 3/4” thick plaster… so it would be like being pummeled with stones.
Within the hour Scott, the puppies and I were in the sewing room devising a bed on the floor.
So now while we wait for our second-floor bedroom to be completed, we are sleeping on the floor of the sewing room. Glenn needs to finish roughing in the piping for the third-floor bathroom before we can seal the ceiling. And… Bert and his boys need to pull the old rusting heating tubing that Patrick installed and replace it with proper heating tubing.
Scott has nestled almost all the insulation into the wall and plans to start drywalling our bedroom shortly.
Glenn has positioned the sink and toilet for the half-bath downstairs but the piping connections are not completed… Yet. Very close to having a first floor half bath…
