September did not wait long before cooling our days. We have new heating coils in every room, but the kitchen. We thought we were good to go.
So yesterday, when the temperature dropped into the forties overnight, then proceeded to remain in the fifties all day, we turned on the heat. But, our cottage did not even begin to shake off the cold. We knew it would take a while for the boards to warm, so we waited patiently, bundled in sweaters.
The temperature remained in the low fifties and our interior temperature continued to drop. Hmmm… that didn’t seem correct.
Scott went to look at the furnace. The pipes bringing warmth to us??? COLD! Switches had not been turned on.
Sunday… a day we prefer to not bother anyone. But, the forecast predicted chillier temperatures today. So we sent a text.
Turns out… the boiler needs to have the old rust bled out. It was shut off. They are coming today to bleed out the boiler. In the meantime, we remain bundled in a very chilly cottage. Both puppies have doggie sweaters for warmth…
