Bedroom Furniture

Remember that beautiful bedroom set we found at the estate sale? Well, when it didn’t arrive and we had not received any information as to where it was or why it wasn’t in Gloversville, I started checking.

After a a few calls, I learned our bedroom set had not left its point of origin.

“Why?” Was my question.

After a few more phone calls (being helped by a lovely lady at the moving company) we learned that I needed to sign paper work for the bedroom set to be moved.

“Should I mail it?” she asked.

“Can I sign it electronically?” I questioned.

“Let me check… Yes,” was her response.

A few minutes later the paperwork came through and I signed the document and sent it back off. Thrilled that now our bedroom set could be on its way to Gloversville.

Not so fast! I needed to sign and initial in what felt like a zillion places (actually about 14 places) and I had signed in just one place. Oops!

So the document came back and I realized it definitely had more than one page. It had eleven! Imagine that… eleven pages of mumbo jumbo needing to be signed to move a bedroom set. So I set about signing and initialing and sent it off again. Thrilled our bedroom furniture would soon be on is way.

Wrong! The next morning I received an email stating that I still had missed three spots that needed either a signature or initial. Sigh… the joys of being visually impaired. No matter how hard I try there are blind spots on every page for the visually impaired lady… and if those spots need a signature? Well… it really is a matter of just good luck whether I will find them unless they are prominently highlighted. So I sign newly highlighted areas and send back the documents for the third time. Fortunately, the third time is the charm and the documents have met with approval.

I must take a moment here and compliment the lovely lady who handled this problem. She was Gracious and Thoughtful and Cheerful through the whole ordeal. It was never a “big deal” just a bump in the process.

The bedroom set was loaded onto a truck and on its way to Gloversville. It arrived. They carried it to the second floor (since our attic is not ready for a bedroom set yet). It was much larger than we thought and takes up the whole room. Furniture will be moved to different rooms and we will have a place to lay our heads when we arrive at our lovely Victorian cottage…
