Teeny steps…

Well, yesterday our household goods arrived from Hawaii. All the boxes arrived unscathed with the exception of one. The one box that had a problem leaked fluid from a bottle of puppy silk hair conditioner that had never been opened. Though there is no point in unpacking many of the boxes, we did search for our doggie stairs so the pups stop jumping on and off the bed at full tilt. (We are concerned they will damage their joints and vertebrae with their leaping antics.)(no success finding them so far)

Our plumber/heating/air conditioning man called full of mea culpas. We had what we believe was a productive meeting. Things should be moving along nicely now and possibly we will have a washer and dryer installed by this weekend.

The window man from Pella Windows came. We are looking at replacing the attic windows. The representative suggested we just replace the glass in each window with triple pane glass and put insulation into all the casings. This will have the desired result and save us quite a bit of money.

“Baby Girl”

Still no one seems to know where our car “Baby Girl” is… our cute little red Buick Encore… so lost… and, we are still car-less.

The old kitchen… Scott made more headway on taking out the old knotty pine in that old kitchen so we can put in the new one. Now that he has a few boards out they are coming out easier and not tearing at the bottom. We are thrilled. Soon we might have enough removed that we could start planning the layout. And we are striving to see if Scott can save the lovely ironing board system that folds into the wall so we can use it in the sewing room.

And, our television was delivered. The reason we bought such a large television is because it needs to be as large as possible for me to be able to see the pictures. Now to get it upstairs so we can watch it! Today, we have two strong men coming to bring the television, bed frame, and two wardrobe chests upstairs.

We have selected the material for the sheers and the draperies in our bedroom. I am so excited to get started making them. Maybe by the end of May we will have an almost finished bedroom.

Yesterday felt very productive…
