Bits and Pieces…

Scott continues to make our yard more lovely by the day. He is trimming back bushes from the house. We took out some Siberian Cypress bushes from both corners of the house and replaced them with a single rhododendron and two hydrangeas on one corner… We purchased another two rhododendrons and an azalea for the other front corner to the house… future bursts of color and delight for the bees in the area. We are striving to provide a safe zone for as many bees as possible. We refuse to use pesticides or artificial fertilizers. It is composting, mulching and tender loving care for our precious plants and their much needed pollinating friends.

Today we are sharing a picture of our friend Elizabeth’s beautiful hawthorn. If you have beautiful trees or gardens to share with our friends please send them to me.

Now that the kitchen cabinets are removed the whole kitchen space feels accessible to our vision. It is easier to appreciate the space and grasp how to place each appliance. Though it will be months before we have a completed kitchen, it still feels like progress.

Today they are removing all three (3) the layers of added flooring from both our primary kitchen and bakery… Then they are putting in the framework for the new downstairs bathroom and mudroom so our bakery space is accurately defined. More progress! Yay!

Definite decisions on the floor and ceiling made… the floors and cabinets will sing a beautiful harmony while the ceiling, appliances, and countertops will complete the tune…

Today we are off to pick out the countertops for the bakery. Will post the results of our decisions tomorrow…
