Once Again…

We are in another hold pattern… well, maybe not hold, but creep pattern. Waiting patiently for our heating to be upgraded… Waiting for our plumbing to be installed in the kitchen… Waiting for our gas lines to be hooked up in the kitchen… Waiting for gas lines to be installed for our three fireplaces… Waiting…

John, Lothar (John’s brother), and Seth from Herrl Woodcraft installed our natural cherry cabinets for the bakery.

Brian from Granite and Marble Works came on Friday to measure for our bakery countertops and the missing granite in the primary kitchen. Now we wait…

Last week we had a very warm day. We reached 53°. It rained. The warm rain touching the snow provided an ethereal splendor to our whole area. And, made certain areas hazardous for driving… It rained almost twenty-four hours, then temperatures dropped into single digits and our beautiful snow returned “with a layer of ice underneath” sigh… But, the mess the rain attempted to create was obliterated by fluffy snowflakes.

Yesterday would have been Josh’s thirty-seventh birthday. He loved football but stopped watching it when he learned about the head injuries players received. He understood traumatic brain injury only too well. It was his small way of protesting the head injuries. But he never stopped loving two teams… the Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars. We decided to watch the last four playoffs. After watching these four games, it is clear they gave taken steps to protect the players from TBIs. We are grateful and we know Josh would be thrilled.
Being from Hawaii, we cheered for Mariota, quarterback for the Tennessee Titans. We weren’t invested in either team for the Eagles/Falcons game. But, Sunday we were invested. It was Josh’s birthday and his two favorite teams (Jaguars and Vikings) played. Both were victorious in nail biting games… especially the Vikings! Happy Birthday, Josh!!!
