All those nasty naughty rusting heating coils have been removed from the front part of the ceiling on the second floor. The laundry room, bathroom, and closet ceilings await their turn. Then… the first floor living room, foyer, and tea room ceilings… and basement crawl space for our primary kitchen. Sigh… at this moment in time they expect to be working in the first floor by Thursday or Friday. Basement replacement to be determined. We know they are not looking forward to working in the basement crawl space (they are big guys). It begins to look as if this will be a two week job.
Some of the new coils on the second floor have been threaded… and secured.
At this point in our adventure, we have slept in the third floor bedroom… second floor (literally) sewing room, and first floor (again, literally) primary kitchen. Can’t decide which floor we enjoy most, since we love the unique characteristics of each floor and each room. Maybe we will sleep in each room for a while. It is amazing how it shifts your perspective.
Our perceptions of our home, no matter where we are, continue to produce oohs and ahhs every day. Nary a day goes by when one, or both of us, doesn’t say, “I just love our home!”
So for the next few days we are relegated to the kitchen floor while Bert’s sons finish installing the heating on the second floor ceiling; then, we look forward to our last thermostat being installed and finally completing the air conditioning installation that Patrick left half completed…
