Gazing…

I am so grateful that I never started the curtains for our cottage. With all the tearing down and dust assailing our home on a daily basis, they would have been ruined before they ever were useful.

Scott now has the ceiling down in the laundry room and our future closet. Thomas Pest Control took down the ceiling in our sewing room while looking for bats… No bats were found… no guano…

But, though we do not have a belfry, we do have dormers… and those dormers had bats… ‘HAD’ being the operative word. At this point it appears our home is critter free… except for Happy, Emmi, Scott and me…

One more ceiling on the second floor to remove… the bathroom ceiling. It is a small room and should be removed today.

Scott will spend the next three days shuffling moving boxes from our living room and tea room to safer quarters for the switching of the heating coils next week. When the old ones come down they release a tremendous amount of water… possibly causing a minor flood. If boxes are in the area they could become casualties.

And, we have two new support beams in our basement. The first floor is now about 1.5 inches higher in the center of the house. One more floor to raise.

So at this moment we are camped out on the floor in our primary kitchen… where we will be for about a week. It is wonderful lying on our pallet, cuddled, gazing at our copper ceiling…

P.S. Our puppies cuddling in our refuge in the living room.
