Before I complete our update for the end of last week, let me share that Winter Storm Bruce hit today and is supposed to continue tomorrow. We are not in the line which will receive the most snow, so, for us, mostly a non-event. Though all day Monday, it rained… and rained… and rained… washing away much of our beautiful accumulation. Now Bruce is giving us a lovely new layer of my favorite white stuff!

Friday we ventured out, not for Black Friday sales, but for quilting rulers. Not my fault! Scott was perusing Facebook’s MarketPlace and saw a whole bundle of quilter’s rulers for sale.
It was cold, but just going from the cottage to the car or from the car to a store is a few seconds. No need for more than a sweater yet… after all, it was only 0…
The drive was beyond wonderful. As we drove along the highway at a relaxed, “get-there-safely” pace, we enjoyed the scenery’s face lift. Drab, brown fields had been transformed, and the forests were delightfully frosted. Tawny, dried weeds and their dusky shadows painted texture on the roadside, gave way to glittering fields of smooth white. I ohhhed and ahhhed the whole way. Squeals of delight popping out periodically.
My delight just escalated when we arrived at the home of the quilter. She had a whole floor dedicated to quilting and crafting… any quilter/crafter’s dream.
She also had a Go Fabric Cutter with extra dies for sale. A perfect tool for someone with limited vision.
Saturday Scott worked on window frames for the bedroom.
Sunday we drove to Saratoga Springs to meet a friend for lunch. The weather was warming (mid-thirties) and it allowed the snow to melt and develop into another magical myst (also referred to as fog)…
