Tickets…

It is time! We must purchase our plane tickets to go to our new home which also means we are leaving our home of over half a century, all our friends, but most of all my oldest surviving son George…

George is the pride of my life. He is, and always has been, one of the most thoughtful honest people I have ever known. But, he has a very full busy life and travels much of the time. I take great comfort in the fact that he flies to Europe quite often. New York City is quite often his stop over city and we are only a five hour drive north.

But, still, George and I have had so many adventures checking out new restaurants, different restaurants, and just walking. With modern technology a text will still feel like a text, but I will know I can’t just jump on the bus and meet him at Ala Moana Center to spend the day… though to be honest, his days are so busy those happen rarely.

I choose to look forward to him and his partner, Paul, coming to Gloversville where he can ply his fabulous cooking skills in our kitchen and he can pick and choose what he wants from our vegetable garden. I keep hoping we can convince them to move near and have their own vegetable garden, but that is a wish for another day.

Back to tickets! We will be leaving Honolulu on April 4, 2017 via a direct flight to Chicago, Illinois where we will pick up a rented car and drive to Gloversville. Just as a reminder, we are flying to Chicago because pets cannot fly into New York from Hawaii. Plus, this will be easiest on our two puppies. So, three months from today, late in the evening, we should be arriving at our new home.
