Snow…

Our friends, who know we have lived in Hawaii for a zillion years, are concerned about our winter roads. Please know: One… Gloversville is excellent about keeping our streets clear of snow. Two… the distance we go to pickup our food is less than four blocks away.
Now for the exciting news! We had snow falling most of the weekend. Sunday was particularly lovely. It snowed almost all day and well into the evening. We have accumulated an easy 6 inches of that beautiful white stuff.

Plus, during the night, a fairy snow remover came and cleared our sidewalks. What a lovely surprise! Thank you to our wonderful fairy!

Scott has been working so hard I insisted he take the weekend off. With all the snow and chilly weather, we had a cuddly weekend in bed.
At the moment we are re-reading “The Left Hand of Darkness” by Ursula K. Le Guin in memory of her passing from this earth too soon.

I have been continuing to study my cookbooks. It really has been a long time since I’ve cooked and a refresher course is well needed. I’m particularly enthralled with “The New Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day” by Jeff Hertzberg and Zoë François. The last time I made bread it required hours of kneading. With this new method it really is an easy process. Not quick, but doesn’t require a lot of “hands on” time. When I actually get my kitchen I will let you know how tasty these new breads are. If these breads are as tasty and easy as they sound, everyone might start making bread at home instead of buying it at the store.
And, for those of you wondering, we did not watch the Super Bowl. Neither of Josh’s teams made the playoffs, so we skipped the final game.
Well, these are my latest meanderings… nothing earth-shattering… just a lazy winter weekend…
