It has taken us a while to recognize that living in a house on the mainland is different than living in a house or condo in Hawaii. In Hawaii we have breezes and salt air all the time keeping our lungs healthy and strong. During the winter here, houses become quite dry and need humidity added. Somehow we missed that… I was coughing all the time and the membranes in my nose were dried out. Then it dawned on me that the reason I was so uncomfortable was the lack of humidity…. Now we have added little manual humidifiers in our bedroom. The coughing has eased and the nose membranes are moist and healthy. One more Mainland adjustment accomplished.
Well, we finished “Replay” by Ken Grimwood. It didn’t turn out to be exactly Groundhog Day. The ending had aspects we liked and aspects we didn’t like. I guess that it might be what makes it an interesting read. Still pondering that possibility…
We have now moved on to “The Joy Luck Club” by Amy Tam. I have not re-read it since it first came out in 1989.
This weekend we saw a movie “Sarah’s Key” on Amazon Prime. I think it might have been a sleeper. But, it’s a touching story about one family of Holocaust victims from World War II. A needed reminder…
It snowed Friday, but by Saturday afternoon it had turned into light rain. Fortunately, so far the temperature has not risen so much that it has melted our beautiful snow, but it has caused the snow and icicles on our roof to come tumbling down. It is still February… I was hoping for a several more snowstorms before the season ended…
Addressing a blog issue… Apparently, some you have been receiving pictures that are not positioned correctly when you read my blog. I do place the pictures properly in the blog program. In some other programs they appear in the correct position and in others they are turned some other direction. I don’t know why. If I was more of a computer geek, I could probably figure out a solution. If any of you know how to correct this glitch, please let me know… FYI I am thinking about changing from Word Press to a more user friendly program for the blog. Problem is, that means I would lose all my past blogs…
