Harper…

Finally, a winter storm delivered winter! Winter storm Harper delivered plentiful snow! Of course it did not start until after sunset Saturday, so we missed most of the snowfall because it was just too dark to see it. But, through the night, we could see the accumulation on the ground. Sunday morning Harper continued to bless us with snow.

For a while, you could shovel the walkway and the snow coming down filled in the areas as quickly as you shoveled. And, though we were promised snow until four in the afternoon, it really stopped about 1:30 pm.

They are promising more snow on Wednesday. We shall see…

As far as the cold snap? Nothing compared to what our friends in Alaska have gone through, but we are -13 with 16 mph winds. It is the winds causing 90% of the trouble. With the insulation not in place yet, the house is chilly, but manageable. Blankets now cover the windows in the sewing room and the temperature, inside, stopped dropping. Tomorrow will be a balmy 18 which we know our cottage handles easily…
