walls need constructing to fill in no longer wanted doorways…
support beam needs installing…
holes in the subfloor need filling in where sinks and other structural artifacts existed…
Now that the support beam is installed and the new wall constructed, Scott is ready to proceed. He starts with the insulation on the wall separating the master bedroom from our future walk-in closet. (Remember… my husband has never done construction work… installing insulation? Scott is now adept at installing insulation… maybe he wanted to ease into this huge project starting with something familiar? I know I would!)
Holes in the subfloor? Scott, ever the puzzle master, made patterns, cut matching subfloor pieces, and nailed them to the floor joists.
The trick now? How to incorporate the support beam without destroying the magical aesthetics of our future master bedroom…
The drop ceiling from the support beam to the wall invokes definition and the illusion of a recessed area…
Wanting to increase the impression of a recessed space, the area with the drop ceiling will be encased with columns…
Stay tuned…
